1. What is a Christening or Baptism?

Infant baptism is the Christian religious practice of baptizing infants or young children.

The exact details of the baptismal ceremony vary among Christian denominations. Many follow a prepared ceremony, called a rite or liturgy. In a typical ceremony, parents bring their child to their congregation's priest or minister. The minister then applies water to the child. As the water touches the child, the minister utters the words "I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (see Matthew 28:19).

Most Christians baptize their baby by either pouring water (affusion) or by sprinkling water (aspersion) on the child. Some Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions baptise their babies by totally immersing them in the font.

Although it is not required, many parents and godparents chose to dress their baby in a white gown called a christening gown for the baptism ceremony. Christening Gowns often become treasured keepsakes that are used by many other children in the family and handed down from generation to generation. Traditionally, this gown is white or slightly off white and made with many laces, trims and intricate details. In the past, a gown was used for both baby boys and girls. In more modern times, it has become appropriate to baptize boys in christening outfits. Also made of white or off white fabric, the christening outfit consists of a romper with a vest or other accessories. 2. How quickly are items processed once I place my order?

Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns prides ourself in how fast we process and ship our orders. Orders received Monday thru Friday before 11:30 am MST will be processed and shipped the same day. Orders received Monday thru Friday after 11:30 am MST will be processed and shipped within 24 hours or less. Orders received Friday after 11:30 am MST thru Sunday will be processed and shipped the following Monday.

3. How are the Christening outfits shipped?

Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns ships all of our Baptism outfits through UPS Ground Home Delivery Services. A single accessory item can be shipped Priority Post.

5. Will I receive a tracking number?

Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns will send a tracking number to each customer. The tracking number will be sent via email from Google Checkout.

9. What if I ordered the wrong size?

Boy's and Girl's Christening gowns will exchange christening outfits for different sizes in the same style. Any size exchanges must be requested within 48 hours of receipt of goods. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the consumer and are non-refundable. Please email us at exchanges@boyschristeninggown.com.

11. What is Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns return policy?

Product is non-refundable if worn. Returns for any reason other than an error by Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns is subject to a 10% restocking fee plus freight. Return freight is the responsibility of the consumer. We do our best to show accurate pictures of our items. When placing an order, please consult the size chart first and measure your child to ensure the proper size is ordered.

Exchanges will be made only for size differences when necessary within the same style. Any size exchange must be requested within 48 hours of receipt of goods. Contact Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns for an authorization number before returning the goods. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the consumer and are non-refundable. Shipping charges will be credited only for errors made by Boy's and Girl's Christening Gowns.

On returns, when we receive the garment we will inspect it. If it shows signs of being worn, no refund will be given. In the event of a snap being broken after or during use, the snap will be repaired and the original garment returned to the customer.
